Community Education Program Manager - El Camino College

POSITION AVAILABLE:

One Special Services Professional management position, full-time with Community Education.

Basic Function:  Under the direction of the Director, Contract and Community Education, plan, develop, organize and actively promote the District’s Community Education offerings; perform duties related to budget management, course and instructor selection, marketing, oversee the primary functions of the day-to-day operations, and supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. 

Representative Duties:

Plan, develop, and organize fee-based classes, workshops, events to ensure the program success as a profit center. 

Actively market and promote Community Education.  Develop and produce marketing materials for all offerings.  Supervise the production of the Community Education bulletin. Provide information to District personnel, students and community regarding program policies and procedures, course content and fee structures. 

Prepare and administer budgets; monitor and control expenditures in accordance with District policies and State mandates regarding program self-sufficiency. 

Recruit, interview, select, hire, and evaluate instructional personnel; review and approve course proposals and curricula; review evaluations to determine instructor effectiveness and student satisfaction.

Select, train, supervise, prioritize the work and evaluate the performance of office-personnel.

Assure efficient office operations and registration procedures.
Assess program operations and activities in terms of cost-effectiveness and program goals. Review and audit program assuring the integrity of the program. 

Perform public relation duties by representing Community Education and the District in the community. Develop and maintain positive customer relations.

Investigate complaints and resolve problems.
                                               
Minimum Qualifications:  Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in related field and three years of direct experience; evidence of entrepreneurial success and at least two years of supervisory experience. 

Salary:  $62,660
